Responsibilities
- Develop and implement collection strategies to maximize recovery rates while minimizing losses.
- Supervise and train the collections team to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial reports and credit data to assess risk and make informed decisions regarding collections.
- Negotiate payment plans with clients to facilitate timely debt recovery.
- Conduct quantitative research to identify trends in collections and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with underwriting and loan processing teams to ensure accurate account management.
- Maintain detailed records of collection activities and prepare reports for management review.
- Address escalated customer inquiries or disputes regarding their accounts effectively.
Experience
- Proven experience in collections management or a related field within the banking or finance industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, credit analysis, and loan processing procedures.
- Proficiency in financial report writing and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent math skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with clients while maintaining professionalism.
- Familiarity with underwriting processes is a plus.
