The Illustration and Interactive Media department is recruiting a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions. Successful candidates will be industry-leading digital designers, with award-winning design sensibility and outstanding conceptual ability in pairing design and digital technology. We are looking for experts in the following areas: web design, user experience design (UX), user interface design (UI), motion graphics, 3D modeling, augmented reality (AI), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR).
Adjunct instructors deliver relevant course material, assess student performance, provide guidance and assistance to students both in and out of the classroom, and submit grades on time. Course descriptions are available in the online catalog.

Minimum Qualifications:
This is a part-time position, adjunct teaching position beginning in Spring 2026. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. The department will keep this posting open to create a pool of candidates for potential future adjunct assignments. The department will contact applicants whose qualifications fit our programmatic needs.
Compensation
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) governs the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment.
$89.98 per hour based on minimum qualifications. The final rate, step and appointment rank are determined by a candidate's ability to demonstrate that they meet the respective school's additional criteria for hiring "above the first step," in accordance with the CBA Adjunct Salary Schedules (pp 88-89).

The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
- Relevant 6 years of industry experience and or its equivalent.
- At least one year of teaching experience at the college level.
- Master of Fine Arts degree or equivalent.
- Award-winning design sensibility
- Ability to teach technical courses as well as design studios
- Ability to instruct and ensure the safe use of tools and machinery and successfully communicate conceptual ideas for class projects through lectures and visual presentations
- Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign
- Expertise in UX/UI design tools such as Figma and Protopie
- Expertise in responsive web design and developing design systems
- Expertise in front-end development
- Expertise in After Effects and/or Premiere
- Expertise in audio/sound design
- Expertise in 3D modeling software such as Blender and Fusion 360
- Expertise in open-source electronic prototyping platform such as arduino
- Expertise in augmented reality (AI), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies.
- Expertise in social media campaign and promotion
