Role Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to support on-site construction activities in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
This role is responsible for implementing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and supporting safe, efficient execution of construction activities. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of coordinating closely with project teams and subcontractors on-site.
- Assist the Project Manager in establishing and implementing site-specific EHS management plans, procedures, and control measures, and support submission for owner review where required.
- Review construction plans, method statements, and technical measures from an EHS perspective, and ensure alignment with OSHA standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard assessments, identify potential risks, and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with project safety requirements, construction standards, and approved procedures.
- Manage site safety performance, including incident prevention, reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis.
- Support safety training programs, including site orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety communication initiatives.
- Track and report safety performance, and assist in coordinating safety-related aspects of project schedule and execution.
- Participate in coordination meetings with the owner, project management team, and subcontractors to ensure safe and orderly site operations.
- Support equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities by ensuring compliance with safety requirements during all project phases.
- Complete other tasks assigned by the Project Manager or company as required.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction site safety management or industrial EHS roles (experience in large-scale construction or industrial projects is preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience in site safety inspections, safety training, and incident management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with field teams and subcontractors
- No criminal record
- Authorized to work continuously and legally in the United States (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, etc.); OPT candidates are welcome; H-1B sponsorship available
- Strong communication, coordination, planning, execution, and learning abilities
- Willingness to travel frequently as required by project-based work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Office)
- Native-level proficiency in English (proficiency in Chinese is preferred).
Pay: $62,900.23 - $75,750.81 per year
