Social Media and Marketing Intern

Are you a good communicator, a creative thinker, and a multitasker who enjoys learning new things? Then this internship, Fall 2026 through Spring 2027, may be for you. FarSounder, Inc. is a small and growing marine sonar company located in Warwick, Rhode Island. We've invented and developed a revolutionary type of sonar that shows the user a 3D image of the underwater environment in front of their vessel (similar to radar, but in 3D and underwater). FarSounder's products are proudly made in the USA and marketed and sold globally.

The internship duties will include performing tasks associated with a variety of marketing campaigns through assisting with social media, public relations, graphic design, and video editing. They will assist in engaging our audience by providing creative ideas and content for a variety of marketing outreach and collateral. This intern will also support the team in many sales and marketing tasks that will give them a full understanding of how a small company markets itself around the world. The intern will work directly with FarSounder’s Director of Operations and Relationship Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist in online outreach and promotion via Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
• Conduct industry research
• Create a variety of digital content
• Write articles, press releases, and blogs
• Develop ideas and collaborate on marketing campaigns
• Help to maintain and execute the company's media plan
• Track results of campaigns and outreach
• Support marketing in various administrative tasks 

Requirements

• Strong desire to learn 
• Possesses a professional drive and demeanor
• Proficient in the use of social media platforms 
• Has an understanding of marketing techniques
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Digitally fluent, including Word Processing
• Knowledge of Canva or another content design tool
• Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
• Ability to work in the office in Warwick RI
