Job Description:
The primary focus of the Assembly Tech 1 position will be to . Activities change daily. You will be given daily/weekly/monthly guidelines and goals. The job will consist of mechanical and electrical support of low complexity. Duties in this area include:
· Assembly of custom equipment
o Measuring floor layouts
o Use of combined blueprints and models will direct your build process
o Use of BOM’s will direct you to the proper components to use
· Operations of FAS built machines.
o Utilizing your knowledge from building machines to detect problems
· Breakdown and crating
o Use of hand tools, saws, drills, etc.
o Proper labeling of components for re-installation
· Post shipment clean-up
o Break down boxes, put away loose fasteners, categorizing left over components. Clean sweep, be ready for next machine.
The job will also consist of performing general grounds and building maintenance, shipping/receiving, and supporting machining, electrical and assembly areas.
Specific duties include:
· Organizing and maintaining company owned tools
· Maintaining company owned power equipment
· Shipping/Receiving
· Upkeep of building maintenance, I.E. furnace filters, etc.
If you show a track record for a great attitude, hard work we will train you. If your interest in Electrical, Mechanical, or Machining help to grow, Farris Automation will send you to a tech school to help advance your career. You do not have to have a college degree to succeed in this industry.
Requirements:
· Two years of hands-on experience assembling industrial equipment or similar industry, I.E. Automotive Repair
· Knowledge of tooling and metallurgy
· Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs max)
· Mechanically intuitive
· Willingness to learn new technologies and disciplines
· Independent and self-motivated history
· Willingness to travel throughout the United States. The estimated travel for the position will be less than 10%.
· Some weekend work will be required (45-50 hours when needed)
