Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Director to oversee performance and planning across multiple locations. This role is ideal for a hands-on financial leader who combines analytical rigor with operational insight, ensuring compliance, and sustainable growth. It will require a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and strategic financial management within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial leadership, oversight, and analysis for 3 or more locations.
- Oversee all New Mexico Medicaid orthodontic claims, ensuring accuracy, compliance, timely submission, and proper follow-through.
- Complete end-of-month financial reporting, including reconciliation of NM Medicaid claims, insurance payments, patient ledger discrepancies, and any outstanding balances or unposted items.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement financial controls, systems, and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Manage financial staff within assigned areas; support their development and performance.
- Serve as a key liaison between higher management and local operational teams.
- Audit production and collection reports regularly for accuracy, ensuring all adjustments, write-offs, and payment postings are correct
- Collaborate closely with Treatment Coordinators and Front Desk teams to verify that all production is properly charged, posted, and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Analyze trends, identify gaps or inconsistencies in production or collections, and implement appropriate corrective actions to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with office leadership to drive performance, optimize costs, and support strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with actionable insights.
- Will require some travel
Qualifications
- Experienced in financial management preferably in the dental field
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of insurance billing processes, including Medicaid claim submission and follow-up
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with insurance claims
- Ability to analyze complex financial data, perform detailed account analysis, reconcile accounts accurately, and control costs efficiently.
