Who are we?

Farmsteads of New England is a unique Farm designed to support individuals diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, as well as individuals diagnosed with Acquired Brain Disorders. We provide support, care, and lifelong memories.

What will I do?

As the Director of Facilities Maintenance, you will work with our team to maintain the facilities of our community. This includes all aspects of construction, demolition, carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical systems and preventative maintenance, landscaping, , and installing and replacing electrical fixtures.

Daily Responsibilities

• Has extensive experience of managing large-scale facilities and operations.
• Thinks strategically and plans beyond day-to-day maintenance needs.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, technology, and project management skills.
• Has experience with capital planning, budgeting, and facilities improvement projects.
• Is committed to providing safe, welcoming, and well-maintained learning environments for individuals diagnosed with Developmental Disabilities or Acquired Brain Injuries.
• Oversee daily operations and facilities management across all facilities and homes, ensuring building maintenance, infrastructure reliability, energy management, and environmental sustainability.
• Lead facilities planning and master facilities' strategy, including long-term capital planning, space design, renovations, and infrastructure development to support evolving service models.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with all federal, state, and local agencies (e.g., OSHA, CMS, EPA).
• Manage and develop a multidisciplinary facilities team, fostering high performance, safety, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Oversee operational and capital budgets, forecasting future needs, optimizing resource utilization, and identifying cost saving opportunities.
• Coordinating and supervising the plowing, salting, shoveling, mowing, and maintenance of the grounds.
• Coordinating with peers and inspection agencies for required inspections such as Fire Inspections, Boiler Inspections, facilities Inspections, etc. and contracting relevant repairs as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of a GED or Highschool diploma.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass all applicable DCYF, BEAS, Local Law, Federal and other required background screenings per applicable regulations.
• 18 Years or older at the time of hire
• U.S. Citizen or possession of necessary papers allowing holder to work legally in the United States.
• Personal/Professional experience caring for others is a significant plus.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday (weather dependent)
• 8 Hour shift, varying times between 7am to 7pm (weather dependent)
• Ability to clear snow as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
