Job Description
- Accurately administer prescribed and PRN medications according to the MAR
- Review and follow care plan for each resident
- Follow the “Five Rights” of medication administration
- Document all medications given, refused, or withheld
- Report medication errors or discrepancies immediately to nursing leadership
- Maintain proper storage and security of medications
- Documents and counts narcotics at the beginning and end of shift
- Responds to call lights in a timely manner
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility support
- Trained Medication Aide or other medication certifications is preferred.
- Experience with medication administration will be extremely helpful.
- Organized individual with attention to detail.
- Careful, methodical, and efficient.
- Strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff.
- Team player who has a passion for elder care and adapts quickly to changing situations.
