Supervisor: District Athletic Trainer /Executive Director of Athletics and Operations
General Job Description: The Athletic Trainer will provide prevention, emergency care, first aide evaluation and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving equipment.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all equipment required for this position and multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for prevention, emergency care, first aid, evaluation, and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes under his/her care
- Administer all Impact testing of student/athletes
- Liaison between the team physician, the athlete, the athlete's parents, and coaching staff
- Receive, organize, and make available all participation, physical and medical forms
- Consultant to coaching staff on conditioning, nutrition, and protective equipment
- Prevention of injuries including education of athletes and student trainers and correcting deficiencies in athletes as deemed necessary as well as taping and bracing
- Emergency care and first aid including availability of necessary equipment, communication procedures for emergency situations, and prompt, accurate triage
- Evaluate acute and chronic injuries and refer to the team physician or specialist where appropriate. Help decide if a player not under a doctor's care, or may return to competition following an injury.
- Treat athletic injuries as needed or prescribed with the availability of modalities.
- Develop, supervise, evaluate, and modify individual exercise programs for rehabilitation to help athletes return to a pre-injury status
- Maintain records including injury reports, home care instructions, referrals, treatment records, rehabilitation progress notes and insurance information
- Secure training room equipment and supplies as needed
- Provide education and supervision for student trainers
- Cover High School team practices allowing access to the athletic training room
- Cover High school sporting events as scheduled with the Athletic Director
- Accept other responsibilities and duties as deemed necessary by supervisor
