What are the responsibilities and job description for the WATER AEROBICS INSTRUCTOR position at Farmington Country Club?
Position Summary:
Under supervision of the Fitness Operations Manager and in coordination with the Aquatics Coordinator, the Water Aerobics Instructor will provide water aerobics instruction to members. Additionally, they will educate members in fitness and safety all while creating a fun and safe environment that emphasizes participation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead classes through warm-ups, exercise, stretching and cool down both in shallow and deep water.
- Instruct participants on effective workout methods and teach appropriate muscle strengthening techniques.
- Prepare all appropriate equipment and instructional material for each class.
- Ensure a positive experience for members and class participants.
- Answer member questions and assist members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Qualifications:
- Certified instructor (ACE,AEA, AFFA), water specialty/certification preferred.
- Experience teaching Water Aerobics, Group exercise, and working knowledge of training principles.
- Ability to motivate participants.
- Ability to work well with other members of staff.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with members and staff.
Certificates, Licensing and Courses:
- ACE,AEA, or AFFA certification, water specialty preferred.
- CPR/First Aid a plus
