Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead budgeting activities across departments, including monitoring allocations, expenditures, and revenue, and guiding stakeholders in informed financial decision-making.
- Develop forecasts, projections, and long-range financial plans to support leadership strategy and institutional priorities.
- Analyze financial performance through variance, trend, and activity-based analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and key insights.
- Prepare clear, actionable reports tailored to a range of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Support related accounting functions as needed.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) to enhance visibility into financial and operational performance.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis to support strategic, operational, and time-sensitive decision-making.
- Leverage advanced Excel and related tools to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and reduce manual effort.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance reporting and workflows through automation and emerging technologies.
- Support required institutional and system-level reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Partner with academic and administrative departments as a trusted financial advisor and resource.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide guidance, training, and documentation to support effective use of financial systems and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Student Accounts and SUNY System Administration, on data governance, systems, and reporting initiatives.
- Commitment to diversity and university initiatives supportive of diversity and inclusion.
- Interest in participating in student-centered service activities.
- Desire to apply expertise in promoting civic engagement with the College's many community partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, data analytics, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related area.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or comparable data analysis and reporting tools, including forecasting, financial modeling, automation, and advanced data functions, with the ability to work across additional data and reporting platforms.
- Demonstrated experience improving workflows through automation, analytics, or technology.
- Experience in higher education or a similarly complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
- Experience presenting analysis to or supporting senior leadership.
- Experience working with large datasets and/or querying tools.
- Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Oracle BI, Banner, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or informally leading the work of others.
- Experience with project management, including planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination.
This is a full-time UUP position.
- For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, May 28, 2026, and ending Wednesday, June 10, 2026, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

- SALARY: $90,000 $4,000 in downstate location pay = $94,000 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
