Farmingdale State College invites applications for the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG ) Post-doctoral Fellow position in the Center for Criminal Justice Studies. PRODiG is designed to (1) increase the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates. The fellowship is further designed to provide post-doctoral students interested in an academic career with a mentored experience within the academic area of Criminal Justice. Over the course of the two-year fellowship, the fellow will be engaged in teaching to include a combination of lower division and/or upper division courses in the areas of criminal justice technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence (AI), crime/intelligence analysis, crime mapping, forensic/crime scene), with an expected teaching load of two courses per semester. In addition, the position will expose the fellow to departmental committee work, student advisement, and/or curriculum development. The successful candidate is encouraged to engage in scholarly research and apply for relevant grants. This position will provide the fellow with direct mentorship from a faculty member within the Center for Criminal Justice Studies, as well as available campus-wide mentorship opportunities.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To participate in PRODiG , candidates are required to:
- Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
- Have a PhD or Terminal Degree in a field related to Criminal Justice from an accredited institution completed prior to start date.
- Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/ unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.
- Ability to relate to and work with students in various aspects of their academic pursuits.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Preference will be given to candidates who are:
- Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows from a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.
- Specialized in the area of technology use and application within the criminal justice domain (specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI), crime/intelligence analysis, crime mapping, forensic/crime scene, and/or related technologies)

- SALARY: $65,000 $4,000 in downstate location pay = $69,000 Total Compensation.
