The College Connections Initiative (CCI) at the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (LIEOC) provides services to non-traditional adult learners and high school students to enhance college readiness and expand access to postsecondary education opportunities.
The Coordinator for College Access is responsible for the overall administration of the initiative, including the delivery of college access and counseling services, support for participants throughout the college application process, and implementation of program activities as outlined in the current CCI program plan.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative programs that promote college access, awareness, application completion, and enrollment.
- Teach the Pre-Freshman Seminar within the College Preparation Academy.
- Provide direct assistance to LIEOC students and community members with college applications, application fee waivers, financial aid applications, and personal statements.
- Serve as a liaison between CCI participants and college administrators.
- Coordinate and lead visits to local colleges and universities.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with college admissions representatives.
- Utilize the National Student Clearinghouse to track and support student outcomes.
- Participate in professional development activities focused on increasing college access and success for adult learners.
- Represent LIEOC at college fairs, career fairs, and other college access and outreach events.
- Participate in state and system-wide committees dedicated to improving college access and educational opportunities.
- A commitment to expanding college access for adult learners.
- A commitment to the educational advancement of the populations served by LIEOC.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.
- The ability to analyze data and use findings to support continuous program improvement.
- A high degree of professionalism and sound judgement.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Experience with college access, college success/support services, academic advising, guidance counseling, admissions counseling, or a related field.
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Experience working in adult education, higher education, or student support services.
- Experience working at a SUNY, CUNY, or other institution of higher education.
- Experience using the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Experience with educational opportunity and access programs such as EOP, HEOP, SEEK, TRIO or similar college access initiatives..
This is a full-time UUP position.
- For the first 10 working days, beginning Monday, July 27, 2026, and ending Friday, August 7, 2026, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
- CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled
- SALARY: $60,000 $4,000 in downstate location pay = $64,000 Compensation.
