Job Summary:

To provide excellent customer service by performing all the necessary activities for the installation of aerial and/or buried cable.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Construction Supervisor but receives work direction from the Foreman.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepares and loads vehicles, equipment and necessary tools.
• Repairs or replaces service drops.  Assists with road bores as necessary.
• Mount protectors on buildings and ground drops in protectors and pedestals.
• Plow drops for new service.
• Assists in the locating of underground utilities in the construction area.
• Assists in the placing of proper safety signs, etc,
• Digs around other utilities in a manner to protect personal safety and other                                                  
  utilities’ property.
• Loads and unloads construction equipment.
• Operates equipment to install cable.
• Maintains and operates construction equipment.
• Ensures proper materials ae on hand to complete assignment.
• Complies with all safety rules and regulations. 
• Performs other duties as directed.

Pay Information:Hourly

Required Skills/Abilities:

• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license
• Possess or ability to obtain a CDL license
• Willingness to work after hours and weekends when necessary
• Minimum two years experience in maintenance and operation of buried construction equipment (trencher, cable plow, boring machine, mini excavator or backhoe).

Desired Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in buried construction.
• Experience in operating a backhoe or trencher in confined areas.
• Experience in operating a mini excavator
