Overview
Farmers State Bank, a community-focused financial institution, is seeking a Junior Commercial Lender to join our Commercial Lending team.
The Junior Commercial Lender supports the Bank’s commercial lending initiatives by helping develop and manage relationships with small- to mid-sized business clients. This role works closely with senior lenders in loan origination, underwriting, portfolio management, and business development, while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of commercial credit and relationship banking.
This is a growth-oriented position offering structured training and mentorship. Candidates with prior experience in consumer, mortgage, or other lending disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Assist in the origination, structuring, and analysis of commercial loans, including commercial real estate, equipment financing, and lines of credit.
- Support senior lenders in maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.
- Conduct preliminary financial analysis, including spreading financial statements and preparing loan presentations.
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and credit discussions.
- Monitor loan performance and assist in portfolio management, including renewals and annual reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all bank policies, regulatory requirements, and credit quality standards.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities for deposits, treasury services, and other bank products.
- Develop professional skills and knowledge of commercial lending through ongoing training and mentorship.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of banking, credit analysis, or lending experience preferred· Strong financial analysis and communication skills.· Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools.
- Customer-focused with a desire to build long-term business relationships.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform detailed work while managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic knowledge of math principles relevant to finance, including calculations related to interest rates, payments, and amortizations

Pay: $19.71 - $31.25 per hour
