Compliance Officer / Loan Administration Officer
Farmers State Bank, Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, is a family-owned bank located in a small town of approximately 1,200 people in southeastern Wyoming, directly on Interstate 80 and approximately 40 miles east of Cheyenne. We are a single-branch community bank dedicated to providing personalized service while maintaining strong regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Farmers State Bank is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Compliance Officer / Loan Administration Officer to help strengthen the Bank's compliance program while supporting loan administration and regulatory activities. This position will work closely with management, lending staff, auditors, examiners, and the Board of Directors to ensure the Bank maintains compliance with applicable laws and regulations while continuously improving policies, procedures, and internal processes.
The ideal candidate will possess strong banking experience, a solid understanding of loan documentation and regulatory compliance, and a desire to help improve the Bank through effective risk management, documentation, training, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Include but Are Not Limited to the Following:
Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor changes in banking laws and regulations and assist management with implementation of regulatory changes.
- Review and maintain compliance-related policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and assist with regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Assist in tracking and resolving audit and examination findings.
- Participate in compliance monitoring and risk assessment activities.
- Assist with vendor due diligence and ongoing vendor oversight.
- Prepare reports and supporting documentation for management and the Board of Directors.
- Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the Bank.
- Assist in developing and documenting procedures to reduce key-person dependency and strengthen organizational knowledge.
Loan Administration
- Review, book, and disburse new loans, loan renewals, extensions, modifications, consolidations, and increases.
- Maintain loan files and ensure all required documentation is complete and compliant.
- Ensure collateral is properly perfected and documented.
- Maintain Loan Tickler Systems
- Track insurance, taxes, and other required collateral documentation.
- Process participant bank payments.
- Assist lenders and customers regarding loan documentation requirements.
CRA & Consumer Compliance
- Assist with CRA reporting and documentation.
- Participate in consumer compliance reviews and audits.
- Support fair lending and consumer compliance monitoring activities.
- Assist with examination and audit preparation.
General Banking Support
- Cross-train in operational functions to support continuity and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
- Provide customer service and operational support as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Banking experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of banking experience preferred, with experience in compliance, loan operations, loan documentation, audit, risk management, or other related banking functions.
- Community bank experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with consumer, commercial, agricultural, and/or mortgage lending documentation.
- Familiarity with banking regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of BSA/AML requirements preferred.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Highly motivated individual eager to learn and contribute to the continued success of the Bank.
- Follows bank policies and procedures and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
- Possesses the skills necessary to maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, customers, auditors, examiners, and directors.
- Works cooperatively in a small-team community banking environment.
