Loan Associate III – Construction Loan Servicing

The Loan Associate position is an experienced level position responsible for handling complex construction and development loans/draws including the reallocating of budget line items, reviewing draw invoices, ensuring applicable lien releases/title endorsements are provided and general ledger reconciliation.
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for the review and processing of timely construction loan draws to confirm compliance with all related requirements and supporting documentation. Able to initiate timely interest reserve draws and processing payments and be able to balance interest payments.
- Verifies required equity by way of inspections, invoices, and cancelled checks to ensure equity corresponds with the approved budget.
- Responsible for the ongoing servicing of construction loans that includes single-family, subdivision, land development and commercial properties. Monitors lots, release prices, project budgets, loan amounts, and information related to specific loans, start groups, and subdivisions.
- Understand participation loans and be able to work with lenders to reconcile and settle loans.
- Need a basic understanding of general ledgers and be able to reconcile accounts related to participation loans.
- Interfaces with title companies relative to lien and endorsement issues.
- Coordinate and perform a detailed review of the inspection and title updates to identify project concerns, cost overruns, and current construction status and title issues.
- Research and respond to inquiries made by borrowers, participants, service providers, and internal personnel in a timely, professional manner.
- Must have the aptitude to manually compute interest payments.
- Update desk procedures as changes occur or as issues arise; create new desk procedures as job tasks change
- Possess an exceptional customer service attitude and have a “sense of urgency” when dealing with others.
- Research customer loan information when needed.
- Other job responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience with construction finance processes, budget reallocations, and documentations
- Must have experience in using various computer systems and applications, or be proficient in using banking related PC applications in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Successful completion of a credit history check is a condition of reemployment
- Minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. required. Some college preferred

- Ability to organize work, prioritize workflow and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
- Must have above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to exercise good judgment, initiative and tact in dealing with customers.
- Must have the ability to quickly learn the Banks closing process, specific documents, and be able to respond effectively to customer inquiries and questions.
- Must maintain total customer confidentiality.
