Position Overview
As a Commercial Insurance Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining commercial insurance opportunities. You’ll work closely with business owners to assess their needs and provide tailored insurance solutions that protect their operations and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, and marketing strategies
- Recommend appropriate coverage options from a portfolio of commercial insurance products (e.g., general liability, workers comp, commercial auto, property, BOP)
- Prepare quotes, present proposals, and close sales
- Maintain client relationships through regular follow-up and policy reviews
- Stay current on industry trends, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory changes
- Collaborate with underwriters and support staff to ensure accurate policy issuance and service
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial insurance sales or related field preferred
- Current Property & Casualty insurance license (or willingness to obtain within 15 days)
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance lines
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
- Goal-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
