Role Description

The Shipping & Logistics Lead is responsible and accountable for managing all inbound and outbound materials, ingredients, packaging, and finished products at Farmers Foundry. This position ensures smooth operational flow between production and fulfillment while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant facility. This role also includes making customer deliveries as needed, including regional trips that may require several hours of driving.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and takes ownership of problems without needing constant direction.

Compensation

Base Salary: 18-20 / hr Overtime.

Candidate Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably in food, beverage, or manufacturing environments OR Bachelor's degree in supply chain related concentration (internships welcome).
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, carrier systems (UPS/FedEx/WorldShip), and preferably Cin7 Core, ShipStation.
• Forklift and pallet jack operation experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and reporting.
• Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and moving materials safely.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable driving a company cargo van for extended periods, including occasional 2–4 hour trips for customer deliveries.
• Military experience is a plus.

Candidate Responsibilities

• Handle all inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
• Receive, verify, and log deliveries, ensuring accuracy with purchase orders and proper labeling.
• Place finished production orders on the correct shelves and staging zones.
• Conduct routine inventory stocktakes and assist in weekly cycle counts.
• Maintain clearly labeled zones for Receiving, Staging, and Outbound areas to ensure smooth product flow.
• Support Production and Supply Chain teams in maintaining real-time inventory visibility through Cin7 Core and ShipStation.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, labeling, and warehouse organization.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly shipping and inventory reports, tracking shipment accuracy, turnaround times, and any discrepancies.
• Maintain facility standards — ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols are followed.
• Communicate effectively with Production, Sales, and Operations to ensure timelines and priorities are met.
• Make local and regional customer deliveries as needed, including occasional same-day and on-call delivery runs. Take ownership of customer deliveries, ensuring accurate, on-time fulfillment and professional customer interactions.
• Safely load, transport, and unload products for deliveries while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and proper handling procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction.
• Frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Schedule

• Full-time schedule 9:30am-6:00pm, Monday–Friday.
• Ability to work weekends from time to time, if required.
• Occasional Evenings & Weekends for deliveries.

Relationships

• The Shipping & Logistics lead directly reports to the Operations Lead.
