Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Feed Mill operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the production process in the feed mill, ensuring quality control, managing machinery, and coordinating with our logistics personnel. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, inventory management, and adherence to safety regulations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the timely production of animal feed.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor feed mill equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.
- Adjust machinery and equipment to meet production standards and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, inventory, and maintenance logs.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment as needed.
- Work with team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of feed products.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to include tractor-trailers, hooper bottom trailers and feed trailers.
- Load and unload feed products using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Follow designated routes to ensure timely delivery of feed supplies to farms, stores, or other clients.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during driving operations.
Requirements:
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Knowledge of feed mill equipment and machinery.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Basic computer skills for recording production data and inventory control.
- Prefer a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (manual transmission experience preferred). If you do not have a valid CDL we will provide training as required.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks associated with freight handling.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude toward customer service.
