Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas and bus tables to maintain cleanliness in the dining space.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and crates safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Support kitchen staff by maintaining sanitation standards in food handling areas and storage spaces.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation procedures within a commercial kitchen setting.
- Ability to operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and manual handling tasks throughout shifts.
- Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills and hygiene practices.
- Experience with catering or banquet service is a plus, demonstrating versatility in hospitality settings.
