Store Clerk - Local Grocery

Farmer's Market To Go is a grocery store offering exclusively locally made products. The farmers and producers own their shelves and keep 100% of their profits. Our goal is making local food more accessible for the community. We are looking for a team member who can assist and continue to improve daily operations at this unique and growing business.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product inquiries, purchases, and checkout processes using cash registers and POS systems.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure produce and grocery items are properly packaged and labeled.
• Notify Vendors when stock is low or issues with product. Maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, including aisles, produce areas, and storage spaces, following safety standards.
• Support shipping & receiving activities by loading/unloading deliveries and ensuring proper storage of goods.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing shopper questions, offering product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Maintain and ensure store signage accuracy - experience with Mac systems and Canva a plus
• Customer communication - Maintain social media pages (create posts, respond to inquiries) and create and send email campaigns to website subscribers. Experience with WIX a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous retail store experience or grocery store familiarity is highly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers.
• Knowledge of inventory management practices and retail merchandising techniques.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including while practicing safe lifting techniques (must be able to lift at least 30lbs)
• Basic math skills for counting stock, processing transactions, and managing inventory records.
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor.
• Experience with Canva, WIX, Social Media, and Mac systems a plus

35-40 hours a week - Could be made into part time position if preferred - Idea candidate can work at least one weekend day.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
