What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Operator/Equipment Operator position at Farmer Holding Company?
Capital Sand Company is looking to fill an Plant, Equipment, Maintenance Operator position located at our Batesville, AR sand plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate sand and gravel processing equipment.
- Perform general maintenance on processing equipment, replacing bearings, replacing conveyor idlers, splicing conveyor belts, cutting, welding, fabrication, ect.
- Safely operate front-end loader, excavator, haul truck, and water truck.
- Perform general maintenance of heavy equipment; greasing, changing cutting edges, changing oil, maintaining maintenance logs, ect.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of heavy equipment and processing equipment.
- Participates in safety training, drills, and meetings to ensure overall equipment and crew safety.
- Observe and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Suggest corrective action to improve plant and equipment performance and assist with implementation.
- Work in a constate state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending over, climbing, reaching overhead, kneeling, balancing, pushing, or pulling, talking/communication, repetitive use of legs, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 75 lbs.
- Performs other duties as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of the practices and techniques applied to the safe operation of heavy equipment, including record keeping of equipment.
- Lift/Move up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work overtime.
- Ability to read and understand the English language.
- Not afraid of working on/around water.
- Training or working knowledge of MSHA is a plus.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Mechanical experience is a plus.
- Some travel is required.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
