Mechanics are responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engines on heavy trucks according to industry standards and factory specifications, as well as assisting with concrete plant repairs. Essential Functions
- Inspect equipment for mechanical defects and safety issues and participate in the approval of those projects
- Perform repairs using proper tools and techniques
- Troubleshoot issues further if necessary
- Document work performed onsite and submit progress reports
- Ensure on-time deliveries of work completed
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Work overtime when required, ensuring work is completed on time
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Position Requirements
- 2 years’ experience as heavy/medium diesel truck technician
- Ability to travel to other locations to assist with truck/plant repair
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Manual dexterity and good judgement
- Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; maneuver in/out and around/under trucks
