We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Carpenter with experience in bridge and highway work to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality projects throughout Missouri.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and lead a crew of carpenters in the construction of formwork, falsework, and structural components for heavy civil projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Construct, assemble, and dismantle formwork and shoring systems for concrete structures.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, company policies, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior carpenters and laborers to improve skill development and maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in constructing formwork, falsework, and other structural frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and safety protocols (OSHA compliance).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Experience operating heavy equipment and power tools related to carpentry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Willingness to travel with possible overnights.
