Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Rebuild Technician is responsible for executing Farmer Focus’s equipment rebuild program and supporting improvements to rebuild strategies across the organization. This role focuses on rebuilding, repairing, improving, and maintaining equipment that is critical to safe and effective plant operations.
The Rebuild Technician plays an important role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, lowering parts and external labor costs, and supporting operational excellence. This position is expected to identify and implement practical improvements, support root cause analysis, train and coach maintenance team members, and deliver solutions that provide strong value, quality, and measurable impact on key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the site rebuild program and support improvements to rebuild strategies.
Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and lubrication of machinery.
Dismantle, repair, and rebuild equipment that is critical to safe and effective factory operations.
Identify and implement improvement strategies for parts, materials, and equipment modifications.
Recommend improvements to materials of construction, equipment design, or rebuild methods to improve equipment life, reduce cost, and increase value.
Participate in root cause analysis processes to develop creative and proven solutions that reduce or eliminate downtime.
Train mechanics on routine preventive maintenance programs.
Measure and report mechanic competency, cooperation, and program execution to the appropriate management team.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to maintenance teams to help ensure team members have the skills and knowledge needed to execute their roles effectively.
Support key performance indicators, including downtime reduction, reduced parts cost, and reduced external labor cost.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance, Reliability, Production, Quality, and other leaders, to support organizational goals.
Support quality, yield, safety, reliability, and operational performance goals.
Manage assigned budgets and resources effectively to support operational excellence initiatives.
Allocate financial and material resources responsibly and within budget expectations.
Use mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills to support equipment rebuilds and improvements.
Communicate operational risks, rebuild needs, and improvement opportunities to management.
Perform all work with a strong focus on safety and compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation
Compensation Range: $100,000-$115,000 annual salary
The posted compensation range for this role should reflect the minimum and maximum amount Farmer Focus in good faith expects to pay at the time of posting, based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, market data, and the budgeted amount available for the position.

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of total related experience.
Experience rebuilding, maintaining, repairing, or improving mechanical equipment.
Ability to understand schematics, prints, instructions, and P&IDs.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CMMS systems.
Mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills.
Strong coaching and communication skills.
Ability to coach and develop mechanics.
Ability to communicate operational risks, equipment concerns, and improvement opportunities to management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify root causes of problems, develop effective solutions, and measure the impact of changes.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leaders to support organizational goals.
Ability to work extended hours on the plant floor.
Ability to perform regular lifting, bending, and stretching for up to the entire shift.
Ability to work primarily during non-production hours, including significant weekend work as business needs require.
Ability to perform all work with a focus on safety and follow OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience with poultry equipment.
Proven track record of successfully rebuilding, maintaining, and improving production or mechanical equipment.
Specific knowledge of equipment used in the production facility.
10 or more years of experience working on poultry equipment.
Advanced mechanical and electrical skills, including controls and PLCs.
Experience supporting root cause analysis, reliability programs, preventive maintenance programs, or continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience managing budgets, resources, parts costs, external labor costs, or rebuild-related projects.
New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Work is conducted primarily in a manufacturing and production environment across Farmer Focus facilities. This role requires access to maintenance areas, production areas, equipment rooms, and other plant areas as needed. The team member must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions within the plant. GMP and safety personal protective equipment are required while inside the plant. This role may require extended hours on the plant floor, regular lifting, bending, stretching, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and working around production equipment, maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery. This position works primarily during non-production hours and may require significant weekend work based on rebuild schedules, production needs, and business priorities. Limited travel between facilities may be required to support daily operations, equipment rebuilds, projects, meetings, and team collaboration.
