Job Responsibilities
- Provide analysis to management on inventory discrepancies
- Conduct Cycle Counting procedures, and work directly with warehouse personnel to uncover variances in actual inventory on hand versus what is being reported
- Provide the value of lost or missing inventory and report to appropriate Management daily.
- Make approved adjustments to the system
- Coordinate inventory control procedures and execute
- Communicate with purchasing, billing, transportation and other departments as needed to research discrepancies
- Tracks expiration dates
- Execute the daily, monthly, and annual inventory count process for multiple lines of product, dried, frozen and fresh.
- Work with management in accounting, inventory and operations to ensure proper procedures are in place to accurately count and reconcile inventory.
- Provide daily, monthly, annual, as needed inventory reconciliation reports to finance to ensure physical and book inventory are consistent.
- Work with operations management on root cause analysis of repeated inventory errors.
- Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures (i.e., product nearing expiration dates, ripening stages)
- Research customer claims (e.g., over / under shipments, damages)
- Coordinating destruction/dumping of damaged, expired, or recalled stock.
- Identify damaged and poor quality items in inventory and make adjustments as needed..
- Determines product slotting in the warehouse and updates software
- Establishes and maintains a partnership with other warehouse personnel to provide support to the operations to help ensure accuracy in standard inventory handling procedures.
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of policies and procedures to prevent loss and fraud.
- Develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly action plans that improve quality, inventory accuracy and service.
- Work closely with operations to develop our food safety plan, maintain going forward and update as needed
- Ensure organization of all slots and weigh station areas before night shift comes in
- Analyze the cost to work product vs dump vs return vs donate
- Works with product-sorting and pre-packing personnel to ensure product is ready for selection team each night
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Able to work in a cold, wet environment for the majority of time on the job.
- Employee needs to be able to walk, sit, stand, crouch and reach throughout the day as well as make use of their hands to handle produce and tools on the job.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs and Sheets
- Strong math skills
- ERP software experience a plus
- Detail-oriented, dependable and able to work well both alone and with others
- Ability to listen carefully
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Forklift and/or ride along pallet jack experience (preferred)
Required Experience
- High school diploma or GED, Degree preferred
- 1-3 years inventory control experience
- 1-2 years food handling experience (warehouse, retail, restaurant, manufacturing)
