EFDA Responsibilities
- Welcome children and parents with a warm smile and energetic nature =)
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Clean and polish coronal surfaces of teeth to remove stains, apply fluoride treatment
- Apply sealants
- Take impressions
- Knowledge of placing composite resins, SSCs, amalgams, space maintainers
- Prepare the treatment rooms for dental or operative procedures
- Review patient charts /records
- Take x-rays (intraoral and pans).
- Take intra-oral photos
- Provide assistance to the dentist during dental treatment procedures
- Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies
- Provide oral hygiene and postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Keep the dental room and lab clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
Requirements
- Current licensure as an EFDA in the state of Pennsylvania
- Demonstrated desire to work in a PEDIATRIC setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Radiology certification
- CPR certification
