JOB SUMMARY
Farm Fresh Rhode Island seeks an outgoing and energetic Afterschool Educator with demonstrated initiative and educational skills to deliver after-school programming for elementary students. This is a temporary, part-time position (~12 hours weekly) that will build on Farm Fresh’s afterschool partnership with a school in Central Falls to deliver food literacy and food systems education. This position will directly facilitate programming on site in Central Falls and assist with planning and implementing additional Farm Fresh RI Farm to School activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Specific Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, materials, and food for scheduled Segue programs, delivered twice a week
- Procure garden equipment and other materials to educate students on how food is grown as well as sustainable growing techniques
- Ensure programs are properly tracked through our database to ensure historical records are maintained
- Execute programs at Segue Institute of Learning and clean up post-program
- Management of Segue materials/supplies- purchasing, creating, printing, cooking, as needed
- Assist in coordinating with community partners and/or field trips for the program as well as occasional volunteers
- Plan events to engage families on FFRI initiatives at Segue including family nights, cultural night
- Work with Segue for continuous quality improvement of the program
- Support other Farm to School education initiatives as needed

- Experience with informal or formal education
- Experience working with children
- Nutrition or food systems experience preferred
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Energetic and positive attitude

- $21/hr working an estimated 12 hours weekly Aug 17th- Dec 18th 2026
