What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vegetable Farm Worker position at Farm Farm LLC?
We are a small scale organic (non certified) vegetable growing operation looking for a seasonal farm worker for 3-5 days a week starting late April/early May. Work on the farm happens in all weather (hot/cold/rainy/buggy), and can be physically demanding. Most tasks on the farm are done by hand. Mainly we'll be looking for help with bed preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, washing, packing the produce, and making deliveries to Minneapolis. Must be able to easily lift 50lbs. Tractor experience is not necessary but would be a plus. Same for previous farming experience. Farming is production work, you must be able to complete tasks as quickly as possible, work without being distracted, and stay focused on the job at hand while talking with co-workers. The ideal candidate would be punctual, reliable, capable of following verbal instructions, have a good memory, be self motivated, able to work in a team as well as independently, detail oriented, and have a good attitude. Some of our previous employees have gone on to start their own farm businesses. We treat this like a paid apprenticeship if you are interested in learning.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
