Job Summary
***Ideal candidate would be located in Jamestown, LaMoure, Minot or Valley City but other locations will be considered for the right candidate.***
We are seeking an RVP Tax who will provide leadership, technical training, and coaching to a team of Tax Officers and support staff. Actively participates in development and implementation of processes and strategies. Promotes a customer-centric service for customers that supplies them with information for credit, tax, and management decisions. Collaborates with Financial Officers, Insurance Officers, Business Services teammates, and others across the Collaboration to actively market and cross-sell AgCountry products and services to new and existing customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Service and Operations
- Lead and coach a regional tax team to provide excellent tax service and serve as a resource for tax updates and trends.
- Manage workflow to determine priorities and ensure appropriate resource allocation within and between regions to enhance efficiency.
- Select, motivate, and reward teammates.
- Identify training needs, mentor, coach, train, and encourage growth opportunities to teammates. Monitor team personal development plans, work with teammates on goals, and provide regular performance feedback.
- Ensure adherence to processes to improve consistency across the Associations and contribute to continual improvement in processes.

Sales
- Work closely with Collaboration leaders and teams to coordinate market opportunities and actively cross-sell products and services to new and existing customers.
- Measure and validate sales targets to attain steady growth and maintain targeted profitability.
- In conjunction with retail leadership, develop and execute customized go to market strategies that align with the Association’s overall strategy.
- Develop and maintain a professional presence in the assigned territory, build relationships with key influencers, and promote the Associations’ image as an industry leader. Attend local customer events. Maintain sales and marketing competence by participating in Collaboration sales and development training programs.

Projects, Initiatives and Other Operations Work
- Volunteer for and collaborate on special projects and initiatives. Provide tax preparation and review services, as necessary. Potentially work with large or complex customers. Work with customers, as necessary, if teammates leave or are on leave of absence.

Provides Expertise
- Proactively maintain and expand tax expertise. Serve as a resource for Associations’ staff by providing tax expertise and support for tax processing, regulations, and interpretations. Answer technical questions and assist with decision implications. Collaborate with Associations’ leaders and trainers to continually expand self and team knowledge and skills in technology, all Associations’ products and services, and the agricultural industry.

Leadership Duties

- Provide team leadership, shared vision, and positive communications to achieve the Associations’ vision and strategy consistent with the Associations’ core values and team principles. Build strong relationships and collaborative partnerships within the Associations to understand the business opportunities and challenges.
- Establish a positive, participative, and collaborative team environment that inspires creative, high-performing, continuous learning, and engaged teammates. Utilize consensus decision-making, when appropriate, to diversify thinking and enable and empower teammates.
- Responsible for attracting, selecting, and on-boarding a diverse and qualified team and determining the appropriate team resource requirements to meet the Associations’ strategic direction.
- Develop team members through coaching, training and development, opportunities, and on-going performance feedback including timely follow-up on individual development plans; counsel teammates on Talent Management activities.
- Complete and/or recommend salary administration for teammates in accordance with Association procedures.
- Develop and monitor the business plan and annual operating budgets related to areas of responsibilities. Review and approve operational expenditures within delegated authority.
Travel Time
Percentage of time required to travel during the day - 30%
Percentage of time required to travel overnight - 10%
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Tax, Finance or other related business field
Years of Experience
6 years of experience which may include prior leadership experience in Tax preparation and consulting experience
Certification and Technical Requirements
- CPA/EA certification
- Completion of AgCountry's tax certification
