Job Summary
Join our small but mighty team! In this lively role, you’ll be the friendly face greeting customers, assisting with food and beverage orders, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Your culinary interest, friendly demeanor, and appreciation for quality, hand made baked goods and creative coffee drinks will help create a welcoming environment that keeps guests coming back. Whether handling cash, upselling menu items, or maintaining sanitation standards, your proactive approach will drive the success of our little micro bakery!
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their food and beverage orders accurately using Square POS system
- Package and serve food items and beverages in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently, including cash handling, cashiering, and providing correct change.
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience; share what your favorites are, point out new items, or highlight specialty items such as gluten free options.
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, including the beverage prep station, dining space, and equipment such as coffee machines and displays.
- Assist with food handling tasks like bussing tables, restocking supplies, and supporting kitchen staff when needed.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed to uphold health standards in a quick service or fast food environment.
- Assist with stocking retail items, straightening the gift shop daily, and keeping displays stocked and clean.
- End of day clean up
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, café work, retail sales, or barista skills are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems like Square
- Experience in cashiering, serving, barista work, or food handling within a restaurant or grocery store are all helpful
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and basic math for cash handling and retail transactions.
- Culinary experience or background in the food industry enhances your ability to support kitchen operations effectively.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a fast paced cafe environment will set you apart.
