What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator/Project Manager position at Farley Inc?
We are a small but well-established construction and landscape company seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to help manage and estimate landscape and earthwork projects across the state. We offer flexible opportunities—part-time, or full-time—depending on your skills and experience. We're looking for someone motivated to grow with our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Seek out and pursue leads to bid on landscape/earthwork projects.
Develop a working relationship with local architects and engineers.
Prepare bid invitations from project specifications and drawings.
Manage subcontractors and client in the company database.
Direct material and labor takeoffs for self-performed work.
Gather pricing from subcontractors for various project scopes.
Establish project budgets and schedules.
Conduct site visits to review progress and discuss needs with foremen and superintendents.
Manage projects from initial contract through completion, including punch lists.
Troubleshoot issues, analyze challenges, and create actionable plans to ensure timely, safe, and budget-conscious project completion.
Communicate effectively with team members, interpreting plans and specifications as necessary.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide analysis for change orders.
Willingness to perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Valid Class C Driver’s License.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work remotely, with occasional on-site visits.
Knowledge of commercial construction industry, with experience in at least one of the following areas:
Landscape design
Earthwork project management
Masonry project management
Location: Midcoast Maine ( In-office and remote work with Site Visits required)
Compensation & Benefits:
Wage Range: $27 to $50 per hour (based on experience)
