At Farias Family Law, we are a small but growing family law firm seeking a Full-Time Associate Attorney with 5 years of experience in the practice area.

Position Summary

We're looking for an attorney who loves to listen to clients, figure out what they really need, create a plan, and execute it with strategy, negotiations, and representation. You’ll work collaboratively with your team to ensure your clients get the best results


This position is full-time (40 hours/week). The work is mostly remote, but you’ll need to be within reasonable driving distance of the Plymouth, Norfolk, Suffolk, Middlesex, and/or Bristol County MA Probate and Family Courts for court events. 


Compensation

Pay: Starting at $130k, based on experience, with quarterly bonus opportunities and growth potential.

Team Week:

Although we are mostly remote, we dedicate one week each year to in-person team bonding and collaboration, which is a required event for all team members. This is a unique opportunity to strengthen relationships, foster teamwork, and contribute to our supportive culture.


Requirements
  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts
  • At least 5 years of experience in divorce and custody law
  • Ability to attend court events in Plymouth, Norfolk, and Bristol County Family Courts
  • When working remotely:

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Managing a caseload by overseeing divorce and custody cases, ensuring timely progress and favorable outcomes.
  • Building client relationships by setting clear expectations, providing empathetic updates, and ensuring clients feel heard and supported throughout their case.
  • Representing clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences with a focus on achieving their goals.
  • Developing legal strategy through proactive discovery, creativity, thorough case preparation, and strong legal arguments.
  • Negotiating effectively to secure favorable terms for your clients in settlements and agreements.
  • Collaborating with your team by coordinating with paralegals and support staff for document drafting, filing, and case communication.
  • Managing workload and productivity by tracking billable hours (70% target), entering activities promptly in the case management system, and working with the team to ensure timely collection.
  • Engaging with the team culture by participating in weekly meetings, case reviews, and our annual Team Week to strengthen collaboration and growth.

  • You meet annual billable hour target of 1,232 hours while maintaining quality and work-life balance.
  • You collaborate effectively with the team, sharing knowledge and supporting collective success.
  • You balance empathy with strategic thinking — providing compassionate counsel while protecting client interests.
