Deli Manager (Full-Time)

We are looking for an experienced employee to run and lead a Deli department, while creating a unique and positive experience for our customers coming into our stores.

As a Deli Manager, you will need to be committed to great customer service, as well as keeping the deli case full and fresh. The Deli Manager will also oversee preparing made to order deli sandwiches and needs knowledge and experience on how to smoke meats properly. The Deli Manager will be responsible for maintaining fresh product in compliance with Fareway’s food safety guidelines.   

Other key job functions include training and coaching new and experienced staff, providing excellent customer service, selling top quality products, teaching safety/sanitation of all equipment, and maintaining a professional, positive attitude for your team.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

• Supervising the work of your team
• Smoking Meats
• Making deli sandwiches/Deli Trays
• Ordering/Inventory
• Maintaining a full and organized deli counter
• Ensuring all customer orders are filled accurately and efficiently.
• Resolution of customer issues in a timely manner
• Helping create a weekly schedule for your team
• Training of employees
• Communicating department standards, policies, and procedures to all employees
• Creating a culture of pride and continuous improvement

• Leading a team, including training and coaching, in a fast-paced atmosphere
• Energetic, positive and outgoing personality
• Excellent time management skills
• Previous customer service experience
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Must have open availability to include weekend and evening work
• Ability to balance multiple tasks at the same time
• Strong communication skills
• Can lift and carry up to 80 pounds
• Frequent bending and twisting
• Understanding of product attributes, quality, rotation
• Smoking of various meats
• Catering experience is not required but preferred
• Ability to understand and follow maps or work GPS for route guidance

Physical Demands:

• On feet up to 8 hours per day
• Lifting, reaching, grasping, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting
• Frequently lift 0-20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Typical Equipment Used:

• Slicer, Knives, Box Bailor, Smoker, Holding Containers, Vacuum Sealer, Scales, Sou-Vide Machine

Work Environment:
