What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance and Repair Professional position at Fareway Meat & Grocery?
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at Fareway Meat & Grocery. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet vehicles, as well as troubleshooting issues and ensuring that all vehicles are in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain work area cleanliness and safety
- Perform all levels of preventive maintenance and services on fleet equipment
- Complete repair orders accurately and legibly with all necessary information
- Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engine, transmissions, and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, fuel system components, etc.
- Utilize OEM software to perform diagnostic solutions of fleet vehicles
- Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
- Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
- Assign priority and process vehicle repair work orders
- Provide accurate documentation and filing
- Work safely, effectively, and cooperatively with team members, supervisors, drivers, dispatchers, and outside services
- Assist snow removal team at the wholesale complex
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with ability to obtain Class A CDL
- Thermo King/Carrier repair experience
- Diesel and heavy equipment/trailer mechanic skills
- BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS (DIAGNOSTIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE)
