Job Summary
The Parts Room/Inventory Operator II is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations within the parts room, warehouse, and shipping/receiving areas. This position helps ensure that production, engineering, and maintenance teams receive the materials, parts, and supplies they need in a timely and compliant manner.
Responsibilities include staging and returning production materials, assisting with incoming and outgoing shipments, performing basic SAP transactions, supporting preventive maintenance part needs, and helping maintain accurate inventory levels. The associate will also operate material handling equipment, support waste handling, and assist in maintaining organized and GMP-compliant work areas. This role works closely with MRO personnel, maintenance technicians, and production teams to maintain efficient material flow throughout the plant.
Essential Job Functions
• Supply production materials by staging, replenishing, and organizing parts room and warehouse inventory
• Assist with receiving activities, including unloading trucks, verifying materials, labeling items, and preparing shipments
• Process returns from production and ensure proper handling of GMP and non-GMP materials
• Perform basic SAP tasks such as order confirmations, part look-ups, work order entry, and printing pick lists
• Support routine cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
• Assist with staging parts for preventive maintenance, engineering work, and facility projects
• Safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment (training provided)
• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant storage areas aligned with cGMP and safety requirements
• Assist with handling, labeling, and staging hazardous and non-hazardous waste for pickup
• Provide customer service to internal departments by preparing and notifying teams when materials are ready
• Follow all corporate, site, and departmental procedures, and complete required LMS and job-specific training
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support production, maintenance, or warehouse operations
Requirements
Education & Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1–3 years of experience in warehousing, inventory control, parts room operations, or shipping/receiving (entry level)
• No certifications required; forklift certification provided upon hire
• Experience in a GMP, FDA-regulated, or manufacturing environment is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn SAP transactions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment
• Comfortable working in warehouse, production, and maintenance support areas
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical material-handling tasks
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work with minimal supervision once trained
