Facilities Engineer I

Fareva is seeking to add a talented Facilities Engineer I to its team at our Richmond, VA facility. This position is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, and utilities, facilities, and controls. The individual in this position will have identify manage asset reliability risks that could affect plant or business operations.

Responsibilities Include:

• Works with the Operations Maintenance Manager, Facilities Manager, Reliability technicians, and Engineers to ensure the reliability and maintainability of existing equipment and new/modified installations
• Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations
• Provides technical support to the maintenance team and technical team
• Investigates equipment failures and difficulties, diagnose faulty operation and makes recommendations to maintenance crew to ensure quality of product matches customer specifications
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks, promoting open communication with peers and providing updates to direct management
• Maintains compliance with all company and governmental regulations
• Leads root cause analyses and break down analyses using tools such as 5-Why, Cause Maps, etc.
• Teaching and training the organization on reliability principles and continuous improvement
• Lead the development of Preventive, Predictive, and Precision maintenance technologies and practices such as:
  • Oil analysis, vibration analysis, Infrared Imaging and Analysis, Motor current analysis, Ultrasound analysis
  • Laser alignment, lubrication routes, roll management, torquing, calibration
  • Preventive maintenance optimization
  • Asset Care Plans
• Prepare and/or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs
• Provide technical training to all applicable personnel regarding plant systems and functions
• Assemble and review bid analyses and make necessary recommendations 

Required Qualifications:

• 1-3 years’ experience in an industrial environment/ manufacturing as a Maintenance or Reliability Specialist (or equivalent)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organization skills
• Ability to engage, develop, and lead work groups to reach their maximum potential in achieving both short-term and long-term desired outcomes of the plant
• Capability to create a cooperative, safe, and productive work environment that seeks input from each worker.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in Engineering or Technology 
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional or SMRP certification

Physical Demands

Requires movement around plant environment, including climbing of stairs to equipment and plant offices, and lifting of items up to 50 pounds.   Requires frequent reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling. Occasionally requires keyboarding and sitting at computer terminal.
