Shift Leader/Kitchen Lead

FARE, is a quick-service restaurant located in Oak Park, creating food with purpose, by serving flavor- forward dishes that are built with clean, delicious ingredients. We work with a joint love for food and a passion for self- care, we developed FARE to inspire others to enjoy meals meant to enhance overall well- being. FARE’s food is built with wholesome ingredients that support an overall healthy lifestyle - nourishing customers bodies from the inside out. The restaurant menu is comprised of quality ingredients, utilizing a mix of recipes - traditional, gluten-free, vegan and more – with locally sourced, seasonally focused ingredients and no added refined sugars.

Daily functions to include:

• Reports to work on time and is on station as indicated on the daily schedule
• Greets customers, completes all orders in an efficient and accurate manner.
• This role includes barista, cashier, serving and side work duties.
• Sets up work station to include all food items, preparation equipment, food ingredients, small wares and supplies needed for effective operation of the station.
• Correctly cooks and packages all food products to ensure it’s prepared and delivered to standards of FARE.
• Assists other kitchen personnel in food preparation and side work as assigned by Management.
• Prepares all food products according to FARE’s standards, procedures, and recipes.
• Maintains the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety of the work area, including but not limited to counter tops, ovens, floors, walls, shelving and coolers.
• Completes job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices. Immediately reports any unsafe conditions, accidents and/or injuries to the management.
• Efficiently carries out all station closing duties, and assists Management and other kitchen personnel in completing closing duties and special cleaning jobs.
• Completes any other assigned tasks by management.

Requirements:

• Food handler's certification
• Willingness to operate with a friendly character while sharing empowerment and healthy communication with the team
• Food Safety Knowledge
• General knife handling
• Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for up to 8 hours at a time
• Must have a good sense of balance, ability to bend and kneel, and frequently lift boxes and equipment up to 50 pounds
• Can effectively communicate and listen to supervisors, employees, vendors and customers.
• Able to taste in order to distinguish between flavors, spices, temperatures, mouth feel and smell to distinguish odors and scents, including the appeal and level of intensity for all food and beverage products.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
