The Shipping-Receiving Supervisor is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and accuracy of the shipping and receiving functions for the company. The Shipping-Receiving Supervisor has the responsibility to supervise and coach the Shipping and Receiving team.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Manage accuracy of inventory through assuring that the daily inventory transactions are documented, trained to and adhered to by shipping and receiving team.
- Ensures all transactions in Great Plains and other inventory tracking systems are complete to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Manage cycle counts through creation of sustainable processes for all cross functional users; manufacturing and shipping/receiving, with a transparent KPI for ease of visibility.
- Work with manufacturing and shipping/receiving to continuously improve inventory accuracy, process, transparency and user knowledge through spot kaizens, troubleshooting and sharing of information.
- Ensures proper Packing Lists and Bill of Ladings for all shipments to all customers.
- Ensures correct routings of shipments to all customers.
- Contacts trucking companies to schedule pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ensures cycle counts for both raw materials and finished goods are completed timely and accurately, with any large variances addressed, as needed.
- Communicates shipment information to internal customers in a timely, professional manner.
- Plans, organizes and controls personnel and equipment to meet shipping schedules.
- Confers with other departments to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management and quality assurance.
- Coordinates and executes the receiving, unloading and storing of all deliveries.
- Identifies employees’ skills and develops them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
- Ensures that the company shipping vehicles are inspected, registered, insured and safe to operate.
- Ensures that proper equipment and tools are available for workforce to complete tasks.
- Ensures the proper training and development of employees in the knowledge and skills necessary for an efficient, safe and flexible workforce.
- Effectively communicates with all employees in area of responsibility.
- Evaluate and select carriers, methods of transport, and suitable routes based on cost and on time delivery goals.
- Monitor shipments; recommend shipping containers and methods of packing.
- Manage all customer shipping issues, including claims for loss or damage.
- Schedule inbound and outbound pickups and deliveries.
- Effectively communicate to all levels of organization with consistency of message, lending clear guidance to all parties when needed.
- Manage priorities and make decisions that will assist all companies in reaching goals.
- Excellent understanding of and ability to apply principles of lean manufacturing to all aspects of job.
- Ability to work in multi-company environment on both sides of the inventory transaction process.
- Effectively interact with individuals in a variety of organizational roles and levels of responsibility.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work with little direction.
- 5-10 years of related shipping experience required preferably in a manufacturing business.
- Excellent management skills to develop and improve shipping and receiving team.
- Basic skills with office productivity tools: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MRP/ERP.
- Textile industry experiences a plus.
