What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Lead position at Faraday?
Faraday is automating the back office for the $600B home services industry (think HVAC, plumbers, electricians). Contractors are buried in essential paperwork - like permits, warranties, and rebates. Our AI agents take on these complex workflows so projects stay on track, contractors get paid faster, and homeowners get a smoother experience.
In the past 9 months, we’ve grown 300% and partnered with some of the leading US home service brands. Backed by top-tier VCs, we’re growing our low ego, high-output team in Chinatown, NYC.
This isn’t a “status quo” operations job. This is process architecting, customer engineering, and playbook building — at scale. You will define how operations actually work at Faraday, partner directly with customers to understand real business workflows, and translate that into structured frameworks that drive our automation engines.
If you are passionate about systems, obsessed with clarity, and energized by making hard things repeatable — and if you want to be part of a team that’s flipping an outdated industry on its head — this role is for you.
- Own the end-to-end permit operations experience: first you’ll build and do every part of permit onboarding, monitoring, and escalation, then you’ll build the scalable process, then you’ll hire for it. And then you’re on to our next product
- Understand customers' current filing processes, create detailed process maps, and ensure every permit filed through Faraday moves from application to approval without friction.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce cycle times.
- Design repeatable playbooks and SOPs that allow us to scale
- Onboard new customers to our permit filing product, understanding their specific needs and translating them into operational and product requirements.
- Partner with engineering to turn operational insights into product improvements and automation opportunities.
- 3 years of experience in consulting, project management, implementation, operations, or startups.
- Strong process mapping, documentation, and workflow engineering skills
- High ownership mentality: you find ambiguity exciting (not daunting)
- Excellent communicator - you will work directly with contractors, local officials, and our internal team.
- You're energized by the idea of building something, not just running something.
- 140,000 - 160,000, depending on experience, plus meaningful seed stage equity
- Work from an amazing office in NYC
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits
- Take what you need vacation policy
