Position OverviewThe Inside Sales Representative is responsible for building strong client relationships, responding to RFQs, securing profitable orders, and driving new business opportunities. This role requires a proactive, accountable, and service-minded professional who thrives on results, teamwork, and delivering exceptional client experiences.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Engagement & Relationship Management- Act as the first point of contact for assigned accounts, acknowledging RFQs and inquiries same-day.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, and expand wallet share.
Communicate clearly on quotes, orders, backorders, and any client issues with professionalism and empathy.
Quoting & Order Management- Prepare and deliver accurate, competitive quotes that balance client needs with company margin goals.
- Confirm product availability, pricing, lead times and shipping.
- Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams as necessary.
- Ensure timely follow-through from RFQ to invoicing and payment.
- Correct errors within 2 hours of acknowledgment.
- Track client purchasing trends and address declines in business through re-engagement strategies.
- Up-sell opportunities.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability and goal achievement within the sales team.
- Collaborate with purchasing team, operations, warehouse, and management for seamless order fulfillment.
- Follow company policies on financial controls, including third-party reviews of large orders and vendor payment verification.
- Maintain accurate records of quotes, purchase orders, sales activity, and pipeline in company systems.
- Support team culture by mentoring peers, sharing best practices, and modeling professionalism.
Proven sales experience (preferably in B2B, industrial supply, or related industries).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable.
- Ability to manage multiple RFQs, orders, and clients simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
