The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for assisting the purchasing department in acquiring goods and services required for the company's operations. The role involves working with vendors, cross-functional teams, and staff within the organization to ensure purchase orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities:
-Processing purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner
-Communicating with vendors regarding purchasing needs and requirements
-Working closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate purchasing efforts
-Performing administrative tasks to support the purchasing department
-Preparing reports and analysis on purchasing trends and vendor performance
-Negotiating pricing and contract terms with vendors
-Tracking open orders and resolving delivery and payment issues
-Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-A minimum of 2 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role
-Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field preferred
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
-Experience with procurement systems or software is a plus.
