ACCOUNTING & OPERATIONS MANAGER
Fanconi Cancer Foundation (FCF)

Supervisory Scope: None
Location: Eugene, Oregon (Hybrid)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting & Operations Manager is responsible for full-cycle accounting and supports financial administration, compliance coordination, HR administration, systems coordination, and office operations under the direction of the Finance & Operations Director.
This position maintains the integrity of the Foundation’s accounting records and administrative systems and ensures that financial and operational processes are documented, organized, and compliant. The role does not hold signing authority. All contracts and formal authorizations are executed by the Chief Executive Officer.
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Financial Management
• Complete full-cycle accounting including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger management
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare journal entries
• Coordinate payroll processing and reconcile related benefits allocations and deductions
• Maintain accurate tracking of restricted funds, board-designated funds, and grant activity
• Prepare audit-ready documentation and support schedules for Form 990 and annual audit
• Prepare payment documentation for Director review and CEO authorization
• Maintain documented internal accounting controls and financial procedures
• Create, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounting functions
Compliance & Regulatory Administration
• Maintain compliance calendar, charitable registrations, and required state and federal filings
• Support external audit and regulatory documentation requests
• Maintain organized financial and compliance records in accordance with retention policies
Human Resources Administration
• Administer employee benefits and reconcile payroll-related invoices and deductions
• Maintain PTO and leave documentation records
• Maintain organized personnel and compliance documentation files
• Create, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for HR administration processes
Systems & Technology Coordination
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding system access in collaboration with leadership and external IT support
• Maintain user permissions for financial and operational software platforms
• Provide support and troubleshooting assistance for organization-wide systems
• Assist in improving technology tools and workflows
Office & Facilities Administration
• Oversee records retention and annual file management
• Maintain organization of supplies, storage areas, equipment, fixtures, and furnishings
• Coordinate routine maintenance and vendor services
• Procure office equipment and supplies
• Create, document, and maintain SOPs for operational processes
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• 2 years’ experience in full-cycle accounting
• Intermediate knowledge of GAAP and FASB standards
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage confidential information

• Nonprofit accounting experience

COMPENSATION
Salary range: $65,000 – $80,000 annually.
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
