We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher to fill a Postdoctoral Researcher position in Quantum Scientific Computing at the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering (FAMU-FSU COE) in Tallahassee, Florida. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing numerical algorithms to solve partial differential equations on gate-based quantum computers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative computational techniques leveraging emerging quantum computing paradigms.
- Work on interdisciplinary projects focusing on the application of quantum computing in scientific computing domains.
- Engage in the development and implementation of algorithms and models for quantum computing platforms.
- Analyze, interpret, and present research findings through high-impact publications and conferences.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and guide graduate and undergraduate students.
Requirements:
- PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computational Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Demonstrated expertise in computational linear algebra, scientific computing, and computational methods.
- Deep knowledge of iterative solvers, and experience with Krylov subspace techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python.
- Understanding of quantum mechanics, and familiarity with the current quantum computing platforms is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
