A Postdoctoral Fellow is sought to join the Nanobio Materials and Robotics (NMR) group at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. The individual will work on a series of Mayo Clinic, NIH, DoD, and NASA projects related to organ engineering, 3D Bioprinting, and mechanobiology.
Applicants interested in Regenerative Medicine, 3D tissue engineering, Nano Fabrication, Mechanobiology, Synthetic Biology, and Advanced Microscopy are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include training undergraduate and graduate students in experimental tissue engineering and additive biomanufacturing, as well as the development and characterization of functional tissues. The position offers a wide range of professional development opportunities though the NHMFL, Florida A&M University (FAMU), and Florida State University (FSU), including participation in exciting government funded frontier biomedical science and engineering, mentoring experience, and the potential for initiating new independent research. Strong experimental skills are required.
Women and those from groups historically underrepresented in science and engineering are especially encouraged to apply.
Experience and Skills Sought:
• PhD in Bioengineering, Cell/Microbiology, Immunology, or other relevant discipline.
• Experience with primary mammalian cell culture and animal handling.
• A track record of quality publications with excellent writing skills is essential.
• Experience with fabrication techniques, such as 2 Photon Nanolithography, Direct Ink Writing
• Advanced knowledge in image processing and optical microscopy (i.e. Confocal Microscopy).
• Advanced training in vitro techniques and assays (cytotoxicity, angiogenesis, immunohistochemistry, protein and gene expression assays)
