Job Summary
The Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, moving, and preparing footwear merchandise for shipment to retail stores and customers. This role requires safely operating a forklift while meeting productivity, quality, and safety standards in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick customer and store orders using RF scanners, pick lists, or warehouse management systems
- Operate a forklift safely to move, stage, load, or retrieve merchandise from rack locations
- Select correct footwear styles, sizes, and quantities
- Pack products according to company and safety standards
- Label cartons and prepare orders for shipping
- Meet daily productivity, quality, and accuracy goals
- Perform visual inspections to ensure product quality and correct labeling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations, forklift safety procedures, and company policies
- Assist with additional warehouse tasks as assigned (replenishment, inventory counts, returns)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift required
- Forklift certification preferred (or ability to be trained and certified by the company)
- Ability to read, count, and match product numbers accurately
- Basic computer or RF scanner experience preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs (with or without accommodation)
- Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Warehouse / distribution center environment
- Fast-paced, physically active role
- Exposure to temperature changes
- Overtime may be required during peak seasons
- Shifts may include weekends or extended hours based on business needs
- Stand-up or sit-down forklift experience
- Experience working in retail or footwear distribution
- Strong safety awareness
