Summary
We are seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join our team in Stillwater, MN. In this role, this person will support the Counseling & Therapy Department by planning, organizing, and implementing credentialing processes while also maximizing programs’ use of existing electronic health record systems and insurance company portals. This position oversees all of the credentialing aspects for all clinical staff in the clinics and school locations. This position also assists with insurance verification and billing related tasks as needed as well as covering the front desk as needed.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain all credentialing for mental health clinical staff in the clinics, Center for Grief & Loss, and school locations through:
· Monitor credentialing email and mail for incoming requests
· Create credentialing folders, on each clinician (hard copy and electronic)
· Credential each clinician with all insurances FM utilizes
· Maintain credentials for all clinicians
· Create and manage MCC & CAQH sites for all licensed clinicians
· Maintain insurance grid for quick access to all credentialing info
· Maintain Provider spreadsheet with all necessary information
· Provide support to clinical staff completing paperwork, MCC, CAQH questions
· Communicate a clinician departure to any insurance companies they were paneled with
· Ensure compliance with credentialing documentation with: state, licensing, insurance, HIPAA guidelines
· Distribute annual Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training to all staff that are required to complete
· Collaborate with billing, intake, and program staff to ensure efficient work occurs within Procentive, ticketing portal and staff/client experience.
Administrative Support
· Provide administrative support for Counseling and Therapy department by cross training with other support positions (reception, intake) for coverage needs.
· Assist in covering front reception when gaps are present.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree in credentialing/billing related degree is preferred.
Experience
·2 years’ experience in managing mental health credentialing with insurance companies.
· Prior experience with insurance verification is desired.
· Prior experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable is desired.
Knowledge and Skills
· Working knowledge of Procentive or other medical software
· Knowledge of mental health field and different licenses and requirements
· Knowledge of how credentialing, intake, and billing are interrelated
· Requires excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, employees, interns, volunteers, program participants and other supporters.
· Requires knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of standard office equipment such as a computer, printer, fax machine, copy machine, telephone system and 10-key.
· Ability to type proficiently
· Knowledge of and experiencing with using all Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information and security of case records.
· Ability to work independently, exercise good judgement and manage multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner.
· Ability to develop and maintain sensitivity to employee and client diversity in the workplace and demonstrate respectful treatment of others.
· Willingness to develop cultural competence related to the services provided by the agency.
