We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical history
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and vision acuity
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests and assessments
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure a sterile environment
- Support optometrist during exams and diagnostic procedures
- Manage medical records accurately using EMR systems
- Educate patients on optical products, lens options, and retail sales opportunities
- Handle front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing clinic flow
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
Skills
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to patient interactions
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical confidentiality standards
- Experience with intake procedures, vital signs measurement, and clinical documentation
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques in a healthcare setting
- Optical experience or background in ophthalmology preferred
- Medical office experience including EMR systems
- Understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and clinic procedures in ophthalmology or pediatrics settings
- Ability to operate efficiently at the front desk while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
