Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system Office Practicum
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process medical billing and collections accurately using health insurance knowledge and CPT/ICD coding procedures
- Manage medical records by filing, retrieving, updating, and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while maintaining compliance with clinical confidentiality policies
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing information or directing calls to appropriate staff members
- Assist with administrative support tasks including data entry, typing reports, filing paperwork, and performing 10-key typing with speed and accuracy
Skills
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and patient service excellence
- Prior medical office experience is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management practices, and clinical confidentiality policies
- Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing electronic health records (EHR) management
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy healthcare environment while maintaining attention to detail
